A beautifully made late 18thc butchers steel, with piquet decorated bone handle, dated Oct 29th - 1800 - R. Nichols.....it has an attractive shaped handle mount and has gained a very good natural colour....the handle has a "historic" filled crack , which you would expect from a domestic item of this great age...and only adds to the authenticity of this piece.
