A very good example of a late 18thc spiral candlestick, sometimes known as a barn or cellar candlestick, because they were used in both and had a useful hook for hanging from a beam...this one has a nicely shaped traveller for raising and lowering the candle and has a very good original pole-lathe turned base, made of ash....
