A superb 19th century Sycamore Cawl ladle from Cardiganshire in Wales....it has a lovely mellow colour and is in excellent condition with a fine patination...., the well carved hook end to its handle was used for hanging when not in use, but also for preventing it sliding into the downhearth cooking pot.
