A fine example of a ceremonial drinking vessel known as a Bicker....it is made by staving two different pieces of wood , stained Alder and Fruitwood , joined together by "feathering"(sadly a dying craft) and then banded with Willow....it is in very good condition and a useful size.

Scottish. C1840-60.
