Ardingly very good despite the "B" word...!

Tuesday 12th March 2019 at 14:28

Off to Ardingly last week with the first fair of March....I always go with an open mind as to whether it will be good, bad or indifferent....the weather had turned cold and wet after two glorious weeks of unseasonably hot weather the week before, but on the bright side the punters won't be in the garden or on the coast....good 'antique fair' weather,....I hoped.

The first day saw good sales of pottery, selling all my Lambeth salt glazed pieces, a 17thc brass chamberstick and several good pieces of treen....the next day started well with a good sale of a Tunbridgeware Paperweight, given by Queen Victoria to her lady of the Bedchamber, Harriet the Duchess of Roxburgh....but in the final hour of the fair, came my best sale, when I sold my rare small 17thc William & Mary two drawer dresser base....a lovely end to a good fair....this little fair always comes up with good sales and finds..!

Off to Harrogate, Hinchingbrooke, Shepton and NEC in the next four weeks....watch this space when I get time to blog.

Mark.
