Shepton Mallet exciting find...!

Friday 21st September 2018 at 12:33

Just got back from the IACF Shepton Mallet Antiques Fair in Somerset...it never fails to surprise me what you can find at these large fairs...and this one did not disappoint...on the first day I found an Elizabethan / James1 Oak "Childs" Joyned Stool....I have seen pictures of these rare little stools, but never been able to buy one.....where else can you go to an antique fair and find such rare pieces..?...!

The fair was very busy with good sales on all three days and something that was very noticeable was the increase in sales of Oak Furniture....which coincided with an article in the Weekend Telegraph about the comeback in popularity of "brown" furniture ....

Treen & Metalware also sold well and it was so nice to catch up with all of my loyal customers.....one came back on the Friday and Sunday to purchase on both days....!

Off to Harrogate in the first week of October to the Showground....it is the quality of the NEC with many exhibitors and a great fair to visit...hopefully see you there.....take care and thank you for reading my blog.
