A fine example of a late 17thc silver "apostle" spoon.....probably made in Zurich around C1680-C1700 with no makers marks or touchmarks....it has a very attractive "fig" shape bowl, similar to the English spoons of the time....and the finial is an apostle holding a sword standing upon a plinth,....it is usually St Paul who is depicted holding a sword as a way of reminding us of his martyrdom....this collectable spoon is in very good condition.
