A table with a difference, is this small Gateleg from the early 18thc, unusual as it has the nice combination of being made out of Oak & Elm, note how the maker has chosen his wood well , using a superb piece of figured Elm for the top and the base...it stands well on the "trestle" base and has gained an excellent colour overall, and is of a very useful size....the hinges although old have been replaced a long time ago.....I particularly like the ingenious way of "locking" the gate....see pictures.
