A fine example of an early 19thc Prattware "cottage" type money box....it has a flowering tree at each end of the cottage and large figures of disproportionately size, flanking the front of the cottage, presumably Thomas Schofield and his wife....  I love the way the potter couldn't get all of the name in and had to put the D above the name....the money box is in excellent unrestored condition,....usual minor small chips to the hat and arm of the gentleman and a small firing crack to the base (see pictures)...which all add to the originality of this fine piece..!

English - Yorkshire. C1800-10.
