Just got back from a stormy Southwold Fair in Suffolk...it started well with weather conditions favourable and on the first day it was well attended and sales were good , with many purchases including a rare 16thc Oak carved Elizabethan Coffer....it did blow me away with the quality of the carving, it still retained the original hinges, and the candlebox which was also decorated....I could have sold it several times, but it went on the first day to a private customer who is still ringing to say how happy she is...
The second and third day were again very busy with the inclement weather helping and on the third day an american gentleman came on my stand in the last hour and bought eight pieces of treen....a lovely finish to an excellent fair....thank goodness the storm had nearly passed when it was time to pack up.....
