A rare late 19thc Brass Scent Bottle for "perfuming" letters..it is engraved with a hand on one side and a Cherub blowing scented perfume on the other...once filled with perfume you remove the cap on the tube and place against or into the letter while gently blowing on the other tube, scented perfume into or onto the letter...hence scented letters.
