A rare find is this late 17thc Priest, used to administer the last rites to fish, it is made from turned Boxwood and has early ring turned decoration....at the widest end it has been weighted with lead by drilling a hole in the end of the priest and pouring melted lead into it.....there are also marks on the weighted end that show it could of latterly been used as a Fleam Mallet which is used by Vets....it has gained a lovely colour and is a very nice item of Treen...
