A lovely example of these very collectable pieces of pottery....this 19thc "cottage" Pastille Burner is beautifully decorated with flowers adorning the thatched roof and the garden, it has an opening at the rear for the pastille cone......pastilles were similar to incense burners and produced to release pleasant scents when lit to alleviate any unpleasant smells around the home.

English, probably Staffordshire.  C1870-90.
