A very impressive English Bronze Skillet from the first half of the 17thc....it has the founders "strike" or mark for Thomas Sturton 1st and also his initial of T.....Thomas Sturton 1st had a foundry in South Petherton, Somerset and was active from 1630-1658...the foundry was then taken over by his son Thomas Sturton 11....these collectable large Skillets are getting very hard to find and were used in the down hearth for cooking.
