A beautifully made mid 19thc Fruitwood snuff box....it has been carved to look as if it is a small book, when it stands upright....what is so nice about this excellent example is that it has gained a very good colour that you find with patinated fruitwood and there is no damage to the hinge or any chips or cracks...as you so often find on these domestic items...
