A superb example of an early oak joyned stool dating from the first quarter of the 17thc....around the reign of Charles1 or Oliver is one of the heaviest well built stools I have has the original thick top, which is pegged to the top of the legs and underneath the seat is an attractive bicuspid-shaped rail.......the legs are turned in slightly inverted baluster form united by plain thick stretchers has a rich dark natural colour that "aged" oak goes with a fine patination very good condition throughout.
