An excellent early carved group of two ladies and a gentleman gathered together under a palm tree including a small dog complete with bone....dressed in traditional costume of the period....the detail is very good and shows the quality and skill of the carver....the carving is signed on the back F. Ely and there is an old collection label which reads..."18th century Dutch carving "boxwood" "country scene". ( great great Granny Davenport's collection" 1871- 1962)
